Why do i need a power of attorney?

• To appoint an attorney (agent) to act on your behalf when you can not.
• Examples of when you cannot act:
• When you are incapacitated due to illness, age, accident or any other reason
• Not in the country
• Any circumstance where you are not of sound mind anymore or not being able to act.

What is a power of attorney?

• Agency appointment - to appoint someone to create legal relations between you and another party
  
• Preferably in writing
• Document evidence for third party that donee is acting for donor
  
• Donee - the person appointed to act
  
• Donor - the person giving the appointment and authority to act for
